Meet Our Executive Director: Jamie Green

We are delighted to welcome Jamie Green as the new Executive Director of National Employer Training (NET) and Transafe Training, part of the TEC Partnership. Jamie Joined us in October 2024, and we are thrilled to have his leadership and expertise guiding us into an exciting future.

From military service to education leadership

Jamie’s career journey is one of resilience, adaptability, and dedication. Born and raised in Bridlington, Jamie left school with minimal GCSEs, feeling disengaged from education.

At 16, he joined the Armed Forces, seeking structure, discipline, and purpose. His military career took him across the world shaping his core values: “courage, discipline, respect for others, integrity, loyalty, and selfless commitment.”

Despite his passion for the military, but his journey took an unexpected turn when he was medically discharged. “The transition was challenging, but it opened doors to a new career path in education and workforce development”, Jamie remarks.

Jamie found a new sense of purpose as an employability trainer, supporting individuals in developing skills to enter the workforce. This was “a stark contrast” to his previous role training soldiers, but it quickly became a rewarding and fulfilling career.

A career dedicated to skills and workforce development

Jamie’s expertise in education and training continued to grow. He played a key role in establishing a new academy in Hull, delivering IT and Digital Marketing apprenticeships.

His leadership skills and knowledge of apprenticeship training led him to Hull College, where he spent nearly eight years managing contracts across Humber and Greater Lincolnshire, helping individuals gain vital skills for employment.

Now, as the Director of NET and Transafe Training, Jamie is eager to build upon the outstanding work that has been achieved over the past seven years. He is impressed by “the dedication of the NET team and their commitment to creating meaningful employment opportunities for adult learners and supporting employers with workforce development.”

Vision for the future

Jamie’s vision for the future of NET is growth, innovation, and collaboration.

He aims to:

  • Expand NET’s reach into East Riding, East Midlands, and West Yorkshire
  • Strengthen employer partnerships, ensuring training meets workforce needs
  • Enhance apprenticeship and skills training, keeping up with industry demands
  • Foster internal collaboration, driving excellence in service delivery

“I’m committed to ensuring NET remains agile, adapting to the evolving needs of employers while maintaining high standards in education and training”, Jamie pledged.

Looking ahead

Rather than reflecting on the last six months since joining the TEC Partnership, Jamie is looking ahead. He is excited about the next six months and the opportunities available. His focus will be on expanding NET’s offerings, strengthening employer relationships, and driving positive change within the sector.
